Best One Piece: This video is all you need to be convinced of the magic of Gooseberry Seaside’s So Chic One Piece. Since 2015, this has been my bloated beach day hack.
Best Crochet: It takes serious technical skill to craft a real and figure flattering crochet bikini. I’m not talking about the fake crochet that you often get from mass produced bikinis. Akoia Swim is handmade by artisans in Bali and is both authentic and sexy. They also make gorgeous crochet beachwear.
Best Cheeky Bottom: I do not like full coverage bottoms on my butt, so I thank God everyday that we have accepted the Brazilian cut in the States. This is a tricky cut because the material has to be just right to flatter your behind while at the same time not digging into the soft flesh of the area. The Tropic of C Curve Bottoms more than excel at the tasks at hand. The waistband is soft so I never feel uncomfortable.
Vintage Finds: I love a vintage suit! They’re so fun. I always get them dry cleaned before I wear them and they are good as new. Here are a few favorites I found this week: Versace giving Claudia Schiffer vibes, Blumarine under $100, and of course a Pucci.
Best Vintage Lookalike: I love Vintage when I can find it but sometimes you just have no luck. Heavy Manners pulls a lot of inspiration from 80s and 90s prints and transitions them onto modernized silhouettes.
Best “Dupe”: Hunza G is a longtime favorite. The one-size-fits-most fabric makes for less stress when shopping for bikinis and the texture is very flattering, however the brand is expensive unless you can find it on sale. As a woman of the people - I did the research to find a more affordable alternative while not sacrificing quality or fit. I found the perfect alternative in Elysian Swim: half the price and made in the USA.
Best Suit for Tanning: I love all the fun cut outs and shapes but when you want to lay out and get your base layer nothing is better than a classic string bikini. My favorite happens to be from Amazon - I knowwwww - but it is really nice for the price, extremely flattering and just easy! I have the black and it’s probably my most worn bikini. If you don’t believe me just read the reviews.
